Charlotte Fougère

Founder of Calice Hospitality & Wines

Wine Tourism Consultant

Presentation

Charlotte Fougère began her career in tourism at Club Med, focusing on marketing and sales roles in London and in France, before joining Horwath HTL, a Global Leader in Hotel, Tourism & Leisure Consulting in 2009. There, she led impactful projects, including feasibility studies for tourist and cultural facilities and destination strategies in France and internationally. She also produced several sector analyses for the French Ministry of Economy and Finance, and contributed to the structuring of new financing programs to support innovative tourism businesses for BpiFrance and the Caisse des Dépôts et consignations

With a passion for wine tourism and heritage, she took charge of the development of Château de Pommard in Burgundy in 2016, with the objective of transforming this century-old estate, totaling 10,000 m2 of historic buildings, into an emblematic French wine tourism destination (project > €40M). She was also a designated member of Atout France Executive Wine Tourism Board from 2016 to 2018, before launching her consulting company, Calice Hospitality, to support other vineyards in France and Europe, where she collaborates regularly with Egis Group.

Since 2020, Charlotte Fougère has served as Deputy Mayor of Beaune, responsible for culture and major projects. In this role, she oversees the development of the Cité des Climats et des Vins de Bourgogne, inaugurated in 2023, and initiates various cultural events and festivals, including the Belen Festival created with André Manoukian. She was elected Vice-President of the Climats of Burgundy - World Heritage in the same year and actively contributes to the vineyard management strategy in compliance with UNESCO requirements. Her mandate was renewed in 2023 for another three years. She regularly shares her expertise as a lecturer in wine tourism management at Inseec Business School.

Aware of the challenges posed to wineries and wine destinations in developing attractive wine tourism concepts, Charlotte Fougère founded Calice Hospitality & Wines in 2018 with the objective of making her expertise available to owners and investors looking for new offers.
