Presentation

Charlotte Fougère began her career in tourism at Club Med, where she held marketing and sales roles in London and France before joining Horwath HTL, a global leader in hotel, tourism, and leisure consulting, in 2009. There, she led high-impact projects, including feasibility studies for tourism and cultural facilities, as well as destination strategies in France and internationally. She also conducted industry analyses for the French Ministry of Economy and Finance and contributed to structuring new financing programs supporting innovative tourism businesses for BpiFrance and the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations.

With a passion for wine tourism and heritage, she took charge of the development of Château de Pommard in Burgundy in 2016, leading the transformation of this historic 10,000 m² estate into a flagship French wine tourism destination (project > €40M). From 2016 to 2018, she was a designated member of the Atout France Executive Wine Tourism Board, the strategic committee of France’s national tourism development agency, which supports the international promotion of France as a leading travel destination. She then founded her consulting firm, Calice Hospitality & Wines, to support vineyards in France and across Europe. Since 2020, she was also elected Vice-President of the Climats de Bourgogne – UNESCO Heritage, contributing to the vineyard management strategy in alignment with UNESCO requirements. Her mandate was renewed in 2023.

A recognized expert in wine tourism, she regularly teaches tourism and wine tourism management at the Burgundy School of Business and the INSEEC Group, training both students and professionals in the strategic and operational challenges of the sector. Her expertise is frequently sought in international forums.

In 2024, she was invited by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) to speak at the 8th Global Conference on Wine Tourism in Armenia, where she highlighted the transformative impact of wine tourism on rural destinations. She also contributed to the special Wine Tourism issue of the journal Espaces Tourisme with a forward-looking article on how wine tourism is evolving in response to current challenges. In March 2025, she will speak at FINE Wine Tourism Marketplace in Spain, a leading industry event, where she will share her insights on innovation strategies in wine tourism.
